What does “plus 5% light root powder“ mean?
The original recipe is used in the production of the pastilles, only 5% of the sugar is replaced by 5% light root powder. Since sugar has a high specific gravity compared to light root powder, the available light root volume is quite considerable.

Since 1949 Knotweed pastilles (only original with the cross) are produced in the deep west of our country. The uncompromising selection of raw materials and the exclusive use of natural flavors and colors are the cornerstones of the company’s philosophy to this day. This explains the continued popularity of the traditional product, which not only tastes delicious of aniseed and liquorice, but also flatters the stomach with the addition of knotweed. But there is even better:

From 2020 the Long-Time Runner will also be available in a variant with biodynamically** produced, hand-ground light root powder. The Light root (Dioscorea batatas) – the tendril plant from China, cultivated in Germany – known by the synonyms Light yam, cinnamon drink, mountain medicine, Chinese yams keep surprising people every time.

***From an anthroposophical point of view, the light root has a further meaning. On the sidelines of the agricultural conference in 1924, Dr. Rudolf Steiner: “This plant is the only one able to store light ether in its subterranean parts; and that will be indispensable for the people of the future.” (… for spiritual advancement; for people to become spiritually active – note H.-M. That is, the product name Mind Trans Form alludes to the support in the development of the ICH (the ME).
